ADORABLE VINTAGE CHILDREN’S FURNITURE

Pint-sized vintage? From miniature tables and chairs to furniture that stirs up school day memories, it’s easy to fall in love with pieces intended for the little ones. This post rounds up some of the cutest items as listed on ATTIC from stores in the Washington metro area.

Antique School DeskTwo stores in particular, one from DC and one from Virginia, have shown us some great vintage furniture products on a smaller scale. Bentley’s Vintage Furnishings of DC’s Petworth neighborhood recently carried an antique iron and wood school desk and another school school desk from the 60s in a style that many of you might remember. Oh, and how about this vintage baby’s cradle? Sure, you probably shouldn’t use it for its original purpose, but the design of this collector’s item is wonderful and could make an excellent decorative object. Bentley’s might be your best bet in the area if you’re looking for one of these types of products — keep an eye on their latest items for sale.

Fabulous Finds of Vienna, VA also has also had some vintage and antique children’s items in their recent inventory. This painted table and chair set would be a lovely way to furnish the kid’s nook of your historic rowhouse. Likewise, this antique toy rocking chair — while probably too small (and perhaps too precious) for actual use could help finish off that rustic, country interior you’ve been designing.

See the gallery below for several more ATTIC listings for children’s furniture including a pair of Heywood Wakefield chairs, a kid-sized coat rack, a newly artisan crafted table and chair set and a MCM style children’s chair.

Everyday, ATTIC presents the latest furniture offerings from vintage stores in Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland. In a week, we typically present up to 100 new items. And since our launch in May 2015, ATTIC has dug around almost 40 local, independent stores to find nearly 4,000 vintage furniture items. Check out the Browse page for daily updates.
